🗃️ Do we now need to add ChatGPT to draft headers, as in:

“Do not circulate or cite without permission; do not feed into ChatGPT or other AI apps/software”
How would you respond if you were lead author on an article, and during writing your co-author feeds the whole piece into ChatGPT in response to your request to help cut the word count by 25%? Do we now need to explicitly tell people we don’t want our writing delivered to the beast?

Hey #skystorians, what advice can we give young historians about where to look for grants for public history projects, now that NEH is devastated?

I'm working on a resource on this at the moment, but also I think it's a conversation we need to have.

I just finished reading this and this is going to sit with me for some time.
For years, Elizabeth Bruenig has witnessed executions across the country. What she saw has not changed her conviction that capital punishment must end. “But in sometimes-unexpected ways, it has changed my understanding of why,” she writes.
Inside America’s Death Chambers
What years of witnessing executions taught me about sin, mercy, and the possibility of redemption

Abrego Garcia has never even been charged with a crime. Donald Trump, in contrast, has been convicted, by a jury, of 34 felonies.
Leavitt lies about Abrego Garcia: "He is a foreign terrorist and criminal MS-13 gang member ... shame on Senator Chris Van Hollen and the entire Democrat Party who wasted Easter Sunday going on every TV show in the country to advocate for the return of an illegal criminal gang member."

Yet another setback in decades of fights over bison and brucellosis. There’s a very deep history here that is difficult to convey in contemporary news articles. But, I would argue, that history is necessary to understand the context of the fight. #envhist
