i read the color purple for the first time 2 years ago. i finished it but dissociated through it, so nothing made sense. i started the original movie yesterday… i made it 27 minutes before i had to stop. i almost jumped through the tv to beat mister’s ass 😭

i’ve been thinking DEEPLY about 9/11. i was a kid when it happened growing up in the bible belt around rich white kids. between 9/11-obama’s 1st term i was in school. what i was taught vs what was real… my god, white people MUST pay for their lies!
You know, many of us said the post 9/11 War on Terror measures were Orwellian bullshit at the time, from DHS to ICE. The Patriot Act was chilling as well.
Some of us objected vociferously. Perhaps we didn't have the mics or the power, but we remember 2001-2005 as a terrible time in this country.

Not to toot my own horn, but toot toot because I’m proud of myself. I caught another early case of prostate cancer and one of my black male patients. The neurologist said that it was caught so early that there is no metastasis and that they should be able to completely biopsy the area out. 🙌🏾🙌🏾
