I was honored to meet Jane Goodall at a 2024 Day of Peace event in San Pedro. I and other volunteers held a makeshift dove above her during a parade. She said no words to me, but we locked eyes and I said, "thank you." She nodded.

Thank you, Jane Goodall. For everything you left this world.

If I cancel an appointment less than 24 hours before, I'm charged a $25-$50 fee. But the last two appointments I've made have been cancelled by the doctor within two hours of the appointment time for no reason than "it no longer works for the doctor's schedule." Maybe that fee should go both ways.

Part of my job involves updating our media list for local/state elected and government officials and my goodness why is it so difficult to find an email address for anyone in office these days?! Transparency means an ability for your constituents — and media — to contact you without digging.

I moved to LA in August, and I've had family/friends asking how they can help with wildfire relief from out of state. I made a post with resources to donate to. Figured I'd share if anyone else finds it useful.

I cannot wrap my mind around the fact that I'm 20 miles from one of the most destructive fires in LA history, but I'm sitting safely in my apartment while people lose everything. I'm eating meals at our table, playing with our cat, reading before bed. I don't know a word to describe this feeling.

Me, seven days later, finding out what 2025 has in store for LA:

New Year's Day hike but instead of being tourists, this is our home now. Can't wait to see what 2025 has in store.
