Pleased that @rossclarksnp.bsky.social and I got this amendment passed.

The UK Gov is trampling over Scotland’s devolution settlement, and trampling over the work local government's being doing to empower our communities.

This top-down nonsense doesn't wash with folk anymore, and it's not on 🥀
Labour’s Pride in Place programme is an attempt to bypass devolution.

The SNP passed an amendment expressing serious concerns regarding:

❌ The lack of engagement with councils

❌ Restrictive criteria

❌ The removal of local decision-making and disregard for existing community planning structures

School bus update 👇
As you'll hear from the clip, the Labour Administration pulled a last minute amendment out the bag which not only removed any reference to the deep concerns of parents, carers, and pupils, but is as clear as mud 🤷‍♀️
Our SNP Group will always be on the side of affected families.
🚌 The guidance used to assess ‘safe’ walking routes to school is over 20yrs old and not fit for purpose — it doesn't even require a pavement.

❌ Labour have used that document to remove school transport from over 8,000 kids.

🟡 Today we brought a motion requesting a local review.
🥀 They blocked it.

The latest school transport update 🚌👇
We have tried to get these safe walking route guidelines reviewed before, but have been denied because the process was ongoing.
Now these ridiculous bus cuts have been implemented, that excuse has gone. Follow the link to watch Wednesday's Full Council live.
🚌 After cutting school transport from thousands of pupils, the Labour council used road safety guidance that hadn’t been updated since 2004 to assess safe walking routes.

🚸 On Wednesday, the SNP Group will be demanding that this outdated guidance be reviewed with pupil safety as the priority.

We have submitted an urgent business request to discuss Labour’s cuts to school transport at the Executive Committee meeting this morning.

We demand that Councillors have a chance to scrutinise the final details of the cuts before they are introduced - this may be the last opportunity.

What a friend, support, and inspiration she was to all of us. Rest in peace, Christina, you are going to be so missed 💛
The entire SNP Group in South Lanarkshire are devastated to learn of the passing of our much-loved colleague, Christina McKelvie MSP.

Christina was an amazing, kind and supportive friend to us all, and was an outstanding regional and constituency MSP.

This popped into my head again tonight after *everything* in the Spring Statement, and parents in my ward learning today that 88% of weans at one school are losing their school bus thanks to the Lab/Lib Administration.
An evergreen clip 🥀
Well actually, it's only Austerity if it comes from the Austérité region of France, otherwise it's just sparkling mass cuts.

This headline is misleading. Reeves has not been "forced" to find an additional £1.6 billion in cuts to benefits. She has CHOSEN to impose more cuts on benefits because she refuses to raise taxes on the wealthiest.

If you read the news that today Labour plunged 250k people, including 50k children, into poverty, read this thread 👇
My jaw is on the floor 😔
Breaking news - government sleight of hand over poverty figures.

Actual increase in poverty from their cuts to health related benefits is closer to 400,000 📢
DWP is using a sleight of hand in its disability benefit cuts impact assessment: Actual increase in poverty is closer to 400,000, not the 250,000 in the impact assessment.

Quick thread explaining why. 🧵1/7
