2025 has been really good to me despite it starting with me getting clocked by a Kyle McCord pass. engineered a great year at Wide Left, started covering basketball, moved the spreadsheets over to Football Sheets, hit 3k(!) of you. always grateful for the opportunity!

I cannot fathom what compelled the Chargers to start Bobby Hart over Austin Deculus this week given that Hart had not played LT in three years and Deculus has mostly been slightly above catastrophic

takeaways from the Chargers' 7th win in 8 games. Justin Herbert and Omarion Hampton played great games thanks in no small part to a good(!) game from the OL. defense stepped up huge in the second half. starting to feel like LA could *maybe* make a run
5 takeaways from Chargers’ win over Cowboys in Week 16
The victory was the Chargers' fourth consecutive win, improving their record to 11-4.

feels like there's one scramble every game where Justin Herbert simply decides he is untackleable behind the line of scrimmage

Chargers clearly think they have a matchup advantage against rookie CB Shavon Revel Jr.

Ben Sauls, the only left footed kicker in the league, just made his first career field goal. Earlier this year, @katson.bsky.social wrote about how surprisingly lonely it is to be a left-footed kicker www.wideleft.football/p/katson-the...
Katson: The Loneliness of the Left-Footed Kicker

Philip Rivers is back? maybe? and I think how he plays could go a long way towards defining this era of the NFL:

I hope Marshawn Kneeland's loved ones can find peace. talent, fame, and money don't make you immune to mental health and I hope the grief of last night's tragedy can be channeled into positivity and remembrance of a man who was, by all accounts, one of the best of us. RIP

wrote about it this summer: it really doesn't matter if Trevor Lawrence is the 8th or 18th best QB in the league because he's the most memorable QB for a Jaguars team that has always folded in moments like tonight. every Jags fan is gonna tell their grandkids about that TD

thought the Athletic Football Show segment on WAS-LAC was really sharp. LAC are a light box team against a pretty heavy run game. on the back end, the pattern match coverage LAC runs allowed WAS to pull defenders out of their zones and then send receivers back into those holes

doing this against the Chargers defense is certainly a choice
