This is fantastic, and it's something that we've been saying for years.

When companies say that are using "AI for climate change", they are referring to much smaller models used for doing things like climate modeling.

Massive generative AI models are NOT USEFUL for mitigating climate change.
OKAY BIG ONE FOR YA

NEW report out today: I dig deep into how big tech has been muddling tech types and overstating evidence to claim "AI" will make global emissions drop like a stone....

Not only will it not, it seems to be verifiably doing the opposite!!

It is at the age of 31 and a half years that I have realized I'm never going to be on a 30 under 30 list.

As the #ProjectForAwesome livestream enters the last hour, I want to make sure everyone votes for Asian Americans United to win a grant this year so we can support immigrant communities in Philadelphia

Good news alert!
After being wrongfully imprisoned for 40 years, Subu Vedam was exonerated last year only to be seized by ICE as he was about to leave prison. Today, a judge ruled to block ICE’s attempts to deport him from the only country he has ever called home.

Subu Vedam has deportation order vacated. ‘An exceptional situation’
The ruling doesn’t end the State College man’s legal battle, but did fundamentally change his status.

Americans, we are living in a time of viciousness.

We are living in a time where speaking the “wrong” language or having the “wrong” skin color puts you in danger.

Congress must disband ICE and impeach Kristi Noem.

I talked with parents, teachers and kids about ICE's ongoing operation and how it has upended their day-to-day lives. One of the harder stories I've reported. For @rewirenewsgroup.com

In Minneapolis, parents must figure that out, while teachers face half-empty classrooms as students stay home for fear of abduction.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

The problem isn’t rhetoric. The problem is state violence against immigrants. Governor Shapiro should focus on stopping ICE’s harm, demanding accountability, and protecting our families - not scrambling to defend an agency that is terrorizing our communities.

The Senate has not voted yet to increase funding for ICE - we can stop giving them money to terrorize our communities! Tell your Senators no more money for ICE!

Call Senator Fetterman: (202) 224-4254
Call Senator McCormick: (202) 224-6324
🚨URGENT: The House will vote as soon as TOMORROW on increasing funding for ICE & CBP.

More funding with no accountability is essentially an invitation for these agencies to keep violating our rights.

We have to stop this. Tell your reps to vote NO on more funding: act.nilc.org/page/93101/a...

One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!
