Pennsylvania - we need to protect our healthcare and our communities. Let's all call our Senators and tell them we need ACA funding!

It's embarrassing that these billionaires are repeating the same mistakes they made with the arena

There's a last-minute surprise announcement, no long-term plan, and no community engagement.

To put this in scale, Elon Musk's salary from Tesla alone could fund the SNAP program for the entire country into 2034.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk scored a resounding victory on Thursday as shareholders approved a pay package of as much as $878 billion over the next decade, endorsing his vision of morphing the EV maker into an AI and robotics juggernaut.

I did not think I would ever see Pine-Richland flip so dramatically in one election cycle.

I want to thank the local voters who made this possible, and Lissa Geiger Shulman who was just elected to Allegheny County Council and spent the last several years working to fund local school board fights
Pine-Richland Schools (PA), which have dealt with nonstop book and curriculum censorship, just saw its board flip over to progressive representation.

It is a beautiful morning. Our communities worked hard to protect each other all over the country with our votes.

Right now, we celebrate, enjoy the moment, and look towards the future with hope that we can keep making things better.

I wish I could show you all the joyous photos and videos being shared on Muslim and South Asian WhatsApp right now with people reacting to Mamdani's victory.

It's really beautiful and cathartic.

So many years of anti-Muslim bigotry, racism & hate.

And all those tears are now sugar for our chai.

Politicians - you shouldn't fear us because we're trans, you should fear us because we know how to fucking organize and we will win.
whatever you think of Spanberger, the fact that her opponent ran a campaign based almost entirely on transphobia and is on track to eat shit in the biggest blowout the state has seen since 2009 is unambiguously a huge win
Earle-Sears ran what felt like 12 billion ads about how much she hated trans kids and I didn’t hear a single pundit say she should stick to real issues that affect real people.

Voters across the country will head to the polls today, and while this is an off-year election, the results of some key races will affect not just local communities but the national political landscape for years to come.
All eyes on Pittsburgh mayor & Supreme Court retention, but don't overlook down-ballot races
Local voters get to select candidates for Pittsburgh mayor, City Council, Allegheny County Council, and multiple judicial offices in the Nov. 2025 general election.

if there was a rich person with the will, you could build the most incredible news organization that has ever existed just from the wreckage of this year alone.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

I grew up on WIC and SNAP. My mom and brother still use these important services to be able to have reliable access to food.

I am going to do what I can to help my family and my neighbors during this time, but also our government should never have let it come to this.

this is going to make a lot of the classic fighting game footage on long abandoned channels that only exists in like 240 end up looking like smeared dogshit
Youtube has announced that all low-res videos (i.e. older ones) are to be automatically AI upscaled to HD.
Creators can opt-out on a per video basis (but the channel may be long abandoned).

When researching props or behind the scenes, old videos are useful, but not if upscaling produces artefacts.

I love my neighbors. They belong here.

What can you do if you're stopped by ICE or the police outside?

Remain silent.

Ask “Am I free to go?” If they say yes, walk away. If they say no, say “I am using my right to remain silent”
