I LOVE @bbc #HorribleHistories for teaching our children history in a less sanitised way to how I was taught it. British things including those taken via slavery

Question for SLT/SLP/ENT folk.

Why on vf can you see upper and lower PPW movement but none/less in the middle segment? Seeing this more and more particularly in patients who have been doing effortful swallow (naturally or as therapy) and possibly now with EMST

Dear Car Salesmen
Please don’t assume because I’m female that I know nothing about cars, am only interested in the colour or that I have to get my husbands approval. He has zero interest in our car and driving is a necessary chore. I love to drive.

Was proud to stand alongside my MDT elderly care colleagues today to observe the minutes silence. Never has that ward been so still in the morning. It felt the most appropriate place to be to remember, surrounded by patients who will likely have lost family in WW1 & WW2
We will never forget

Prepping for my talk to @unirdg-psych.bsky.social about the SLT role in brain tumours. Saddened to see no updated national guidelines since 2018 or real shift in survival rates @crukpolicy.bsky.social
why are BT still so undervalued? @braintumourcharity.bsky.social

“Help,” said the horse.

It’s not always easy to ask. Sometimes it’s the kindest and strongest thing we can do… for ourselves and for others.

Drove into NW London yesterday. Unnerved by the miles of St George flags on the lampposts. Felt a little like images from Germany in around 1934 if I’m honest. What do I need to do to fight against this tide of hate?

Beautiful double rainbow tonight. As I drove around today I saw so many England flags being used to signal a political view I don’t align to, I needed this to lift my soul.

We are so very lucky to have you.

Do the people who make these rules ever go into a care home? Or ask the managers how easy it is to recruit uk based staff? This is crazy and some of our most vulnerable citizens will suffer. Please rethink this @teamlabouruk.bsky.social

This house has started with a curtain rail pulled down in the night by the cats. It’s in the dining room and we have five guests arriving for lunch.
And a decorated egg my daughter spent yesterday painting has just been smashed on the floor.
What will be the third accident??

Personal view. Disappointed to hear the Scottish law debate say that there needs to be single sex spaces such as toilets for women’s safety thus excluding trans women from them. I am much more fearful of CIS men than I am trans women.
