I can't help but think how much the media loved Greta when she was simply "raising awareness" and "being the change," and how quickly they turned on her when she started to tangibly take action to make the world a better place. Really speaks to the hollowness of our institutions.

Leaving the library at 4am, 8 hours before your dissertation is due (and still having the conclusion to finish in the morning) is really very character building

Charlie Kirk really thought he could out debate a Cambridge student.
Instead, he got verbally curb stomped:

When everything is done, people will see you, & those you supported, as corrupt, as selling out to the lowest bidder, & doing irreparable damage to a country we all deep down love.

No one who cares about wildlife and ecosystems is now likely to vote Labour in 2029.
Or about Gaza.
Or poverty.
Or inequality.
Or international aid.
Or corporate power.
Or democratic reform.
Or racism.
Or trans rights.
So that's goodbye to just about its entire vote.
What are they playing at?

Three Yale professors who have written extensively on authoritarianism are leaving the U.S. “We’re like people on the Titanic saying our ship can’t sink,” Marci Shore said. “And what you know as a historian is that there is no such thing as a ship that can’t sink.”

The decision by these three Yale professors to move to Canada is both a warning and a call to action.

I will forever be haunted by this footage.

Trawling has only been filmed underwater a few times in documentary history, and never with such clarity.

What’s so heart-rending about these shots is watching how the animals don’t just get swept up — they swim for their lives.
