Seizing the opportunity to do some knitting at a soft play party somewhere on the ring road.

Four years today since I packed up three people and four van loads of stuff and relocated it all 200 miles north.
Which means it’s four years since I last knew the location of the charging cable for my bike lights.

Amused that my garden is 34 degrees today. We moved north to get out of the heat of the south east! Thankfully the paddling pool has survived two house moves.

Day out to Knaresborough during which I took three photos of the Noah’s Ark in the wool shop window but none of the castle. Oops.

Bit more batch cooking heading for the freezer. New recipe: smokey sweet potato and black bean stew. And a meat lasagne for the rest of the household.

Have reached that stage of #Lent where I’m staring at an iced bun wondering whether it counts as “cake” or not.

Three weeks into not having a kitchen tap, I was rinsing the quinoa under the tap in the downstairs loo and reflecting that I’ve become the definition of First World problems.

Today I discovered that under floor heating is brilliant for softening butter to make steamed sponge pudding.
This won’t work if:
a) You have radiators

Recipe box cooking tonight. This is hot and sour Syrian-style lentil stew. Which I thought was very tasty.
Offspring said it looked like a cowpat from a cow that had eaten too many sunflowers.

Child delivered to city centre party, which means I get to go to an #exhibition! The Art of Wallpaper at #York #Art Gallery. No pics allowed in gallery so this is my scone and coffee.

In Sheffield today for a Young Voices concert. Haven’t been to a very big concert for c20 years but fortunately read the security guidance last night and discovered I couldn’t bring my knitting, metal water bottle or packed lunch!

Living it up today. Child at Godparents so I have coffee and a book!

Yay for the park being open in #York over Christmas this year. It hasn’t been in previous years since we moved here. Just the place for a walk (and play) before enjoying coffee at the youth hostel. Look at the colours of this cornus!

AND child didn’t wake up until 8.43 this morning! Yippee lie in, finally. There wasn’t much sleep on Christmas Eve and I was discovered manoeuvring a stocking at almost midnight.

Also, Wallace and Gromit, wasn’t that AWESOME?! Very topical and hilarious.

Pleased with the Parmesan encrusted parsnips which were very tasty. Will definitely make those again!

And Ocado in and unpacked! Only two subs, both acceptable. And I am feeling very pleased with my fridge storage optimisation plan.
