Maybe it's a consequence of living where I do need live weather updates and this have an antenna, but I'm confused about all these people on here signing up for streaming services to watch something on broadcast TV. Do they know antenna still exist and are pretty cheap?

It was transforming the biggest NFL stage in the world into a sugar cane plantation that did it for me.

Like, the multiple layers of turning an American icon into a plantation and highlighting the history of exploitation of Black and Brown bodies by the NFL and American colonialism simultaneously?

So was the wedding scene for a couple actually getting married on field?

I'm glad I get to have thoughts like "this was at one of our indie movie theaters". Multiple! A city that truly punches above its weight.

Concerning the UFO Sighting near Highland, Illinois (Sufjan Stevens)
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

It's seems the kids are confusing "casual bar" with "dive bar". Dive bars don't have "good food". And you can wear sweatshirts at any normal bar with good food.

I'll tell you what. A good story, a mythic story, does a lot to heal a beaten heart. Do recommend.

This is why redemption narratives are powerful because it’s never too late to make the right choice to help and care for others.

It’s why fascists hate redemption it shows a way out of slippery slope fallacy and being pot committed.

everyone can turn back and care about others
If you’re crowing over that woman’s fear and are not from the Twin Cities, please know that no-one here cares who anyone voted for. The stakes are too high. There is no room for telling a Somali they “deserve” deportation in this movement.

In my Midwest Dad era, mentally scolding neighbors for bad snow clearing.

yeah surprise, the ice under the snow is there because you put salt down too early. that powder didn't need salt. it needed a broom.

Idk this maybe is just me but I don't think a loud action movie is the best choice at 11:30pm in your bedroom, below your neighbor's bedroom.

Movies about con-men and sex workers. Are there any other kinds of movies? Feels like no!

Do we actually miss 2016? I don't remember liking that year! Some terrible things happened and everything only got worse.

Inaugural Ikea trip in the new Subaru to help a friend.

(I did not load this correctly, yes. I'm learning! I didn't have so much width in the Fit. Also learned the no seat belt warning for the passenger seat.)

man the nih is so fucked right now. it seems like an understatement but every time i hear from someone applying for funding, it's a shock to the system.

people who are shocked at the cost of hobbies, calling it "overpriced plastic", should really stay out of the conversation
