Wow, I did not realize some fruits like jackfruit, guava, and blackberries have more protein than others! I usually think of fruit as mostly carbs. These could be a great plant based protein boost for snacks or smoothies.🧃

I did a 24 hour food recall. In the morning, I had a peach yogurt, hot chocolate, and an egg sandwich. In the afternoon, I ate a hamburger with fries, ketchup, and mayonnaise. At night, I had meat with rice and beans.🍔 🍚

Such a good point! Fruit gets unfairly labeled as “too sugary,” but like she said, it comes with fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants that help our bodies stay healthy. The fiber in fruit also slows down sugar absorption, which makes it very different from added sugars in desserts like ice cream.🍦
"Omg fruit is full of sugar and so bad for you!" Have you considered that it's also full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber? And a fun fact is that our bodies need these nutrients so no, it's not the same as eating something like ice cream. Not that anything is wrong with ice cream.

One thing that stood out to me is to be careful with big or dramatic headlines in nutrition articles. Some headlines make small or weak studies sound very important.

I am Dental Hygiene🦷 class 2027. I took this course as an elective and I am excited to learn more about nutrition. I am curious how different diets affect energy levels throughout the day. Healthy eating=variety. My favorite food is beef🥩with corn🌽, so simple but so good! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
