I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

We need a leader - I appreciate the comfort us in Illinois feel with Pritzker - I trust him to be unwavering in standing up to Trump / I’ve met several people who have moved to Illinois from less LGBTQ friendly states. I advocate he’s a leader we can collectively get behind - JB does give me hope
Pritzker: "In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists & protesters when unprovoked what would we call it? If officials marched down streets harassing civilians & demanding their papers, what would we say? I don't think we'd have trouble calling it what it is: authoritarianism"

It's just a passport & visa ban.
It's just one Constitutional right.
It's just your status as free citizens.

Began my day photographing Midwest Pride at Center on Halsted where the local queer journalism legend Tracy Baim gave this beautiful hopeful welcome speech. I loved the dissection of the word ‘matter’ and my favorite line was this:

“We DO have kings and queens.
But we have no ONE king or queen.”
