Excellent summary of the Creative Australia debacle to date from @beneltham.bsky.social and Catriona Menzies-Pike www.crikey.com.au/2025/02/17/k...
Instead of defending its artists, Creative Australia hangs Sabsabi and Dagostino out to dry
If conservative media is going to dictate cultural policy, Australian culture will face a reckoning.

Lots of anguished comments on this Yamba piece suggesting it will 'ruin' the place (aka: flood it with tourists & hurry it into being the next Byron Bay). I'm not sure that's how it works...does it? For @australia.theguardian.com
A local’s guide to Yamba: ‘We’re surrounded by rivers, lakes, rock pools and beaches’
With its outdoor lifestyle, ‘shop local’ ethos and eclectic dining scene, the NSW north coast town resembles Byron without the influencers, local creative Jacqui Hinshaw says

Broken Hill, on Wilyakali Country, through the eyes of Esther La Rovere, co-owner of The Palace Hotel - for @australia.theguardian.com
A local’s guide to Broken Hill: ‘Chances are, someone will spark up a chat’

Alan Jones breaks his silence to say "I will not be engaging in a running commentary in the media". Oh, the delicious irony. Swing like hell, Aus media. Run run run.
