I can confidently say that if an MP and their spouse were assassinated in Australia we'd be in a state of emergency, there'd be massive changes to firearms laws (as post Port Arthur), the NSW Shooters Bill would have no chance, itwould be the only news

Sadly, US is in such chaos it's just a blip.
Thousands of people lined up at the Minnesota Capitol to pay tribute to slain lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. Between the caskets was an urn containing the ashes of the family’s golden retriever, Gilbert.
Beloved dog joined Minnesota lawmaker, husband as they lay in state
When Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were fatally shot this month, their golden retriever was grievously wounded and had to be euthanized.

Solid entry by Russia in the competition for the Nobel Prize in International Law Hypocrisy, but Israel's still in the lead for calling the bombing of a hospital a war crime.
Russia "strongly condemns" the US strikes on Iran, per the Foreign Ministry: "The irresponsible decision to subject the territory of a sovereign state to missiles and bombing, no matter what arguments are employed, grossly violates international law, the United Nations Charter..."

Excellent article by Rock Morton in the Saturday Paper this morning, on consultants Nous. These guys are so endemic in university managements I ended up writing a whole paper about them. They're basically vampires www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/educati...
‘Mind-boggling stupidity’: The consultancy that captured universities
Nous Group has slowly taken over the university sector, filling VCs’ offices with ex-staff and buying ‘incredibly sensitive’ data that is sold back for benchmarking.
