"im not saying a negative word about her, sorry" SOOOOO TRUE SYLVI

The lated Media Club Plus is out, this time about The Village, the first M Night movie we've covered where the consensus was split but skews decidedly negative. None of us were thrilled with this one, though we were also split mediaclub.plus

what really gets me is if i whole heartedly believe that im doing the right thing and making the right choice its actually very easy for me to stand up firmly and say with my chest why i believe it's right for me to do, literally running away from constituents when confronted by your own actions?

god this guy is such a fucking loser, grown ass man burying his head in the sand bc he's got the ideology of a 5 month old baby "if i dont look at an issue, it doesnt exist!!"
Fillmore ended the meeting and left the room.

if anyone is on the fence about becoming a $5 backer please allow me to gently nudge you, i have had so many "oh my god im so glad that im alive right now to get to listen to this" moments during this run of realis, they're doing some coolass shit with this one y'all
To be honest: Because it's my own game, and because it was basically like recording playtests, it has been especially stressful running Realis on Friends at the Table. But we've gotten to some incredible places, especially with this most recent set of eps.

On transportation, 75% of commutes in Nova Scotia are by single occupant vehicles (stats Canada). Until that becomes the focus, not projects like Morris St, addressing congestion and transportation emissions is a lost cause.

on one hand you hate to see it but on the other, well its nice to have data to back up my feelings/personal observations that there has been a significant increase in these kinds of crashes 😪
Newly released HRM traffic crash data shows very significant increases in crashes involving pedestrians and cyclists (analysis from Jan to June)

HRM abandoned its Vision Zero goal in 2024, despite acknowledging hugely disproportionate VRU injury crashes

a thing i learned yesterday that would have been useful to know like, 6 months ago, is that both my twin bros have had their adhd diagnosed since they were 5 & 7 so turns out I DO INDEED have history of adhd in the family instead of the "idk maybe 🤷🏻‍♀️" that i got to tell the docs during my assessment

ik its not a feeling exclusive to us but oh my god does being adopted ever set you up for a series of "wow I wish someone had given me a playbook on how to navigate this" situations

I was involved in hiring for ~5 years at a store I used to manage and one of the questions I was required to ask was "Do you have reliable transport to the store" and the number of faces I watch fall before they quietly responded "..well I have to take the bus" is genuinely incalculable.
On-time performance for Halifax Transit is down to 68%!

These are serious problems that our provincial government should be urgently trying to address. The answer is not more highways, it’s not less tolls, it’s not free parking! We need ways for NSians to meet their basic needs without a car!
