Your now regular reminder that threatening the sovereignty of a NATO ally, while 🇷🇺 is illegally occupying 20% of 🇺🇦 & 🇨🇳 is eyeing 🇹🇼 & illegally seizing territory in the S. China Sea, is not only shameful & obscene, it is also a massive national security risk that should immediately end a presidency.

It seems like Roberts was trying to avert a Rubicon moment by delivering the only legally possible conclusion in the Abrego Garcia case in a sort of soft-pedaled way that allowed Trump to save face & claim a partial win while “graciously” complying. That has obviously backfired.

The Supreme Court on Monday night ruled that noncitizens whom the administration has designated as members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang under the Alien Enemies Act must challenge their detention and removal in Texas, rather than Washington, D.C.

And to be clear, the government's argument in the Abrego Garcia case would apply even if it sent someone, including a U.S. citizen, to a foreign prison intentionally and with full knowledge that it was violating the law in doing so.
If the Supreme Court decides that the government can "erroneously" disappear you off the street to a foreign torture prison, and that federal courts have no power to do anything about it, that is, in a meaningful way, Pretty Much It www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/24...
