Saw a Western Meadowlark yesterday at Clover Point. I understand this is an uncommon sighting here. I feel pretty lucky to have crossed paths with one!

I've been in a funk recently, really worried about the weeks / months ahead; so today, I sent out a newsletter that felt quite vulnerable, & the way the writing community have jumped to my support has as always far exceeded anything I deserve ❤️❤️❤️

“A life is looped yarn and slipped knots, chains and accidents.” I love the way Melissa sees the world in metaphor. This will loop through my thoughts today. 🧶
Excited to start the new year with a CNF flash in the latest issue of the wonderful Prime Number Magazine. Happy 2026, friends.♥️

That sunrise beckoned me to join the fun! Thanks, Matt, for inspiring me to write 99 new words. #microsarehard
And there we are. ONE THOUSAND entries 😲

Please bear with me while I lie down for the next 10 to 79 days.

The huge flood of entries may mean that the longlist / shortlist are ever so slightly delayed.

We'll see how many more come in over the next few days.
