An excellent article in grand Canadian style: say Americans pay for this twat’s senseless tariffs (and underscore Other Economic Nonsense the Current President Has Burped, with Import) while doing actual Journalism.

When I visited PEN Ukraine in Kyiv in September 2023, I was photographed by Kostiatyn Huzenko, who documented the war. He enlisted in the Ukrainian armed forces this April and was killed on November 1 by a Russian missile. Courage, truth, memory

⬇️ there are no short cuts to preserving endangered languages and certainly not any design by white male Anglo-American privilege. Please pass it on in your endangered languages.
Interesting perspective. Large language models can be capable of preserving endangered languages, but is a company like Meta who you really trust with preserving your language and cultural heritage?

Or will they just use it to generate ad revenue like they do with literally everything else?

If you aren’t aware, before breaking bad Mr Gilligan wrote all the most amazing episodes of The X files. The ones other writers (or punks like me at least) go, wow. No disrespect to all the writers.

I am not shadowbanned, I’ve just been quiet on socials and substack.

I’ve focusing on teaching and navigating the fallout from my firing from @washingtonpost.com — it’s been psychologically hard.

I have never regretted airing an under-informed opinion more.
