So let me get this straight: The President’s plan to lower prices is to roll back some of his own tariffs?

Started my day at the Art Institute in Chicago. Here’s the entrance (the words on the stairs were from a monk preaching religious tolerance in 1893).

I want to very gently say something, and I hope nobody will be mad: If somebody on the internet says something that is NOT about politics and NOT about how terrible everything is, it’s a kindness not to reflexively make a comment (in jest or not) that brings it back to those things.

Reading is the most subversive thing you can do in a culture. There’s a reason fascists burn books.” — Percival Everett at UW-Madison

Just donated $25 to the Dane County Humane Society’s pet food drive. No one should lose their pet because our government is incompetent. www.giveshelter.org/events/pet-f...

Today I went to the Go Big Read event on the UW-Madison campus with author Percival Everett and hundreds of people who read his book, James. He was interviewed by UW chancellor Mnookin (and a handful of audience members). All of this is a big part of why I came back to Madison after 30+years.
