🔆 Sending warmth and light to you all.
One for All Hallows' Day - not taken today, but still worth posting. My favourite photo I've taken of York Minster at first light - it seems to magically exude warmth and light - after the darkness recedes and night turns into day...

If you ever want to appreciate the value of the NHS, get an animal. This little bastard looked like he was at death’s door yesterday, but the problem has been much relieved by the rodent equivalent of a bottle of lactulose and a pack of paracetamol.

£125.

Most expensive 💩 he’s ever had.

Pleased to report that, despite coming under sustained attack this afternoon, my bespoke squirrel proof bird feeder stood strong.

I swear the little bugger looked me straight in the face and muttered ‘challenge accepted’.

So, my garden fox 🤦🏻‍♀️

Here it is back in June stealing my daughter’s sock from the garden.

This afternoon, it returned the sock to the exact spot it was stolen from. In tatters, yes, but still…it’s back.

Anyone know what this means? Does it require another offering? Is it saying thank you?

It’s going to be one of *those* days in my garden safari again.

That squirrel is only one missed jump away from becoming an interactive squeaky chew toy.

Garden drama.

And this is how I found out that foxes can climb trees. Thankfully, squirrels can still climb them faster.

Also for #StandingStoneSunday - Ġgantija, Gozo. Exceptional Neolithic temple site.

Apologies for the repost but I’m feeling too lazy to delete and post it again with the appropriate #StandingStoneSunday tag. 🤦🏻‍♀️
It wouldn’t have been a great holiday without visiting at least one very old stone edifice and Malta has some of the very oldest.

The baby starlings who’ve been at my feeder all summer have entered their ‘spotty waistcoat’ stage. It’s taken me a while to warm to these birds, noisy and greedy as they are, but I’m getting there.

Not 100% certain, but I think that’s St. Anne’s Limehouse (Hawksmoor) in the background.
London in 1975, a glimpse into a lost world by David Granick. If you are a young photographer remember to photograph the ordinary things around you, the people, places and events we all take for granted. Eventually time will make those photographs extraordinary.
