All the reasons to fight for the support that individuals with disabilities deserve, described so well by @lollardfish.bsky.social. "When it comes to work, communication, education and health care, not to mention basic human dignity, the Trump administration is ready to abandon kids like my son."
"It’s easy to miss the human side of policy, legal compliance, the nitty gritty of efficient government. To get caught up in slogans about fraud or waste. That’s what Musk and Trump are counting on. And yet I see and hear the human side every time my son says “My dad’s name is David.” On @msnbc.com

Books! And more books!
Reminder: Your friends want books for the holidays. Lots and lots and lots of books. You also want books. You should probably buy yourself a book while buying books for your friends. Bored? Read a book! Got a wobbly table? Fix it with a book! Missing shingle? Nail in a book! Gas leak? You can <boom>

Such a great essay by @novicsara.bsky.social: "What if an “inclusive classroom” *did* include a mix of deaf and hearing kids, but all the kids learned to sign? What if nondisabled society viewed disabled people as having something to teach them, too?"

I'm a few days late here, but. . . SUCH a fabulous newsletter (as always) by @mdbell79.bsky.social. I'm not a runner, but the comparisons between writing/running make the advice so vivid. "Relentless forward progress" is the motto for the day!
The September edition of No Failure, Only Practice is live! Something a little different this month: this one's called "Train Your Weaknesses, Write Your Strengths," and is about what I learned about writing from running—and about how being a novelist helped me become a runner.
