Georgia Democrats had not won a statewide race that wasn't for a federal office since 2006.

They won two races tonight, both against GOP incumbents.

The margins? 62% to 38% in both.

REMINDER: The elections THIS YEAR are vitally important. If there is a wipe out of the GOP in this year's election, there may be a modicum of change in the GOP for fear of losing their seats next year. GO VOTE NOW!!!

The reason for the anger at posting Kirk’s words is simply that we are entering a fascistic world where the truth is dangerous and lies become facts.

It is literally how fascism sustains itself. Turning bigots into martyrs and innocent people into criminals. And that’s why saying the truth matters.

I want to stress that right wing political violence is nothing new. It's a legacy as old as the country in a lot of ways, what is consistent is the lack of national concern about it.
62 years ago today.

Remembering these 4 little angels who were killed in the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama when members of the Ku Klux Klan planted 15 sticks of dynamite beneath the steps. May they continue to Rest In Peace.

For all of you people posting pictures of Charlie Kirk with his wife & two kids calling him a “husband & father” imma need you to Google Medgar Evers murder & read about his widow Myrlie having to clean the blood stained driveway where he was gunned down at his home in Mississippi. He was one also.

Hitler was "an interesting man" too. JFC the disassociation of these people who aren't subject to the hate by people like this is immeasurable.

He would have seen you at home and pregant without the right to vote.

This isn't some academic exercise. It's real people's lives.
I don't think it's simpering praise. He was an interesting man. I didn't agree with much that he said, but he was interesting and he was growing, and his death is a significant loss for those who believe engagement can help bridge disagreements.
there's a weird feedback loop where the media's reaction to kirk's death pushes you to speak more ill of the dead than you otherwise would because it's the only reasonable response to the simpering praise they're heaping on him

How shocking! Who could have known? I mean it’s not like this happens whenever republicans control the government.😒
This week’s inflation report showed the Trump admin’s economic policies aren’t doing a thing to help working families living paycheck to paycheck.

Giant corporations are raking it in, and workers are shouldering the increased costs.
Double whammy for Americans: Inflation continues to rise as jobs outlook grows weaker | CNN Business
The cost of living continues to increase for Americans at a time when the job market appears to be on shakier footing, creating a complicated economic problem that could be tricky to solve.

Someone needs to inform the n*zi’s widow that as a conservative woman she shouldn’t be making any statements or speaking in public. “Traditional” women don’t do that. She should be seen & not heard & a male family member should be finding her another commander she can serve.

Go iron your hood, Sally.
One of the reasons I'm not familiar with his views is that I find they've been inaccurately or incompletely reported. When I do listen to him in full, he speaks with civility, and his full context has usually been lost. This disappoints me in my profession. That is what I'm saying.
You admitted you're not familiar with his views but are saying he argued with civility. Which one is it, Sally?

Cuz it sounds to me like you're defending him, and that's pretty disgusting and embarrassing.

Uvalde somehow didn't convince the NY Times that "something is seriously wrong in this nation," but Charlie Kirk's murder is a bridge too far.

Shooting school children they've completely normalized, but Kirk's death violated, "basic, common-sense, need-not-be-debated American" values.

So when they thought the shooter of Charlie Kirk was a Liberal, Black, Brown, Hispanic, Latino, Trans, Liberal, Muslim or Arab, they called for Civil War. Now that they know he was a homegrown white boy from their house? Well, NOW we need to pray for Tyler Robinson? GTFOH with that mess.

Let's stop gatekeeping hate speech and these influencers.

Kirk was no different from Osama Bin Laden.

Osama didn't fly the planes or inflict the extremist attacks; he, like Kirk, radicalized others to do the violence.

So the HBCU that raised me is on lockdown because some right winger thinks that's how they get retribution for Charlie Kirk, whose killer is unknown? The automatic response is to kill Black people, who likely have NOTHING to do with his murder. And I'm supposed to empathize with this?
