Why do we have politicians, being even more petty than usual, and bringing in people's weight? Yall dont know if someone has a health condition related. Since when did we get mean girls up in office, cause last I knew there was still primarily white men. #petty #politicians #America
Well, I don’t want to get between Ted Cruz and the baggage carousel as he flees Texas during a disaster

And-since he decided to try to fat shame JB Pritzker-taking a good look at Ted, I don’t want to get between him and the lunch buffet at his Cancun resort, either

Please tell me I'm not the only one in the US that thinks we should bring back the letter u in words... it's satisfying, thats how its supposed to be anyway, and at least people will look a little more sophisticated when arguing 🙃 #vocabulary #language #English #bringitback

Leonard Dixon has run the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center — one of the largest youth jails in the country — for a decade. Records and interviews suggest he might not live in Chicago and is rarely seen at the facility. Injustice Watch reports: blockclubchi.co/4nhajOn

IL should also make it MANDATORY for faculty/staff in higher ed to receive proper training. To better assist individuals with outward and invisible disabilities. I personally have fallen victim to this at an IL public law school, and have been arguing with them all summer. @govpritzker.illinois.gov
As we celebrate #ADA35, we reaffirm our commitment to its vision.

Under my admin, we've made the largest investment in state history to support people with disabilities.

Illinois will keep fighting against those in DC who want to roll back the progress we’ve made.

We should also be making it MANDATORY that higher education faculty gets proper training. Not only for individuals that are outwardly disabled, but also for people who have invisible disabilities. Like myself. I've been arguing with my Law school about this all summer - it MUST change. #disabilities
35 years since it was enacted, the Americans with Disabilities Act continues to stand as a beacon of progress for millions living with a disability.

Today, we honor that legacy by recommitting ourselves to defending lifelines like Medicaid that build a future accessible for all.

If the #disability community wishes for everyone else to accept our differences - then why is our own community at times against one another. Every disability appears among a spectrum. What works for one, doesn't for another. If we cant accept our own, how can we expect others to. #hottake

It is blatantly obvious that someone, or a corporation, does not care about the reasons for something when you repeatedly tell them that a situation is disability related and they REPEATEDLY DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT. We have the ADA for a reason!? "Law school" my a**. #disability #autistic #ADA

Do not.... whatever you do.... give up a fight on something. No matter what the context is, no matter what your 'Why?' is. Just dont give up - remember what has always been said, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. #disability #fight #standingup #advocate #truth

For anyone in the state of IL, who is in Higher Ed. as a student, faculty, or staff - please message me on why you think/feel that having proper training on inclusive teaching practices are beneficial. I have a meeting on July 3rd to gain access to that for us. #disability #highereducation #illinois

Changing the system around inclusivity goes far beyond proper training for staff/faculty - this goes for companies, institutions, and the in between. It's about the open, proactive, and knowledgeable discussions between people. #disability and overall #inclusivity starts with YOU. Don't give up.

To my #autistic community and other #invisibledisability communities... if a system/institution says they 'wont' make a space more inclusive unless you 'force' it.... then force it. Go above their heads. Make them aware that you arent someone who quits. You'll be helping yourself and others. ❤️ I did

#autisticpride means nothing when people in our community are still forced into boxes of 'be normal' by people who preach inclusivity. Despite KNOWING what we know in 2025. I have to continue the fight my parents started in 1st grade for inclusive education. Im 28 & in graduate school. #disability

The overwhelming feeling of; did my disability get in the way of me understanding what was expected of me or did my school fail to support and explain in a way I can understand. #disability #autism #standardizededucationsystems

I suggest that this sweetheart be put in charge. Baby for president ❤️

When I adopted Baby from the shelter she was very cautious; being an owner surrender, I understood. She was the longest there at the time, 2 months, and I had to bring her home. Now she's very vocal, playful, and silly. ❤️ 5 months in her new home.

Tomorrow is my first final, of my first semester, of law school... talk about nervs.

Being in higher ed, in a field that's predominantly men and neurotypical, I've seen first hand that it's time to expand the discussion more on inclusivity to change the narrative. If higher ed wants to be inclusive - that means for everyone and not just accommodations.
