This week has been full of excursions with friends, cleaning and organizing, spending more time with Our cat, regaining an old hobby, cooking / baking, and spending more time reading. We have been fully relaxed and comfortable while alone, which used to feel impossible. Progress is lovely!

Since We were a teen We were always in relationships, many of which were unhealthy for Us and caused us some deep-seated trauma and trust issues, We learned to self-destruct when people got too close out of fear of the same abuse We had faced before. But now, We can enjoy being alone.

Our partner of 10+ years has been away since early last week for a wedding, and We noticed something in the time he has been gone. We miss him, but We no longer have the deep pangs of anxiety, the made-up mental scenarios, the fear of him never coming back, the 'separation anxiety' We used to get.
