Two arguments for this: 1) the timing regarding insurance premiums, 2) the Epstein files. I don’t buy either, but they’re at least somewhat compelling compared to “It didn’t work”. People placed the blame on Republicans; having Thnksgvng airport shutdowns blamed on them would’ve been huge
i think ppl who thought the Ds were making a mistake by reopening the government - myself included - probably need to take the L at this point.

Pauline Kael nailed 2001. “It’s a monumentally unimaginative movie”
Maybe I'm crazy but 2001: A Space Odyssey is such an annoying movie. The long whines and horns mixed with 4-minute long beats of silence while showing us space is probably meant to make the viewer uncomfortable but instead it just makes me wanna turn it off.

The beginning 15 minutes are slow, the last 10 minutes are muddled, and there are a handful of rough lines, but for the most part, Wright’s The Running Man is excellent and the perfect film for this moment in American history

As a side note to this extremely obvious “No duh” revelation — fuck Michael Wolff for keeping this from the public
“.. Epstein wrote in a 2019 email to Michael Wolff … ‘[O]f course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop.’”

“Whistleblowers describe private meals plated just for her. Custom schedules that bend around her moods. Access to programs crafted for the broken, handed to the one who broke them. One officer, worn down and furious, said he was tired of being her servant.”

My political hot take is that US voters should be able to recall elected representatives via petition - at any time.
No more hiding behind election terms.

If a filmmaker is gonna do one for the money, the high bars are DePalma's The Untouchables and Mission: Impossible. Make it so good that it never occurs to anyone to ask about your motivation for making it. So good that they're just grateful it exists.

Yes, we can all dunk on this guy for saying something so dumb, but I think it’s more important to dunk on him for being so dumb he didn’t realize how dumb of a statement this is
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

“Oh, great. Will I be playing ‘The Good’ or ‘The Bad’?”

Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.
