Watched the 2020 movie Host, which is a horror film about a seance gone wrong during a zoom call. It was made during lockdowns, and I was surprised at how intense it got at times. Reminded me of the Paranormal Activity films. And no, it has nothing to do with the Stephenie Meyer book lol

Wanted to watch something quick before bed, and on Shudder I found The White Reindeer, which is a 1952 Finnish film about a woman who goes to a shaman for a love potion which instead turns her into a vampiric white reindeer that starts killing off the men in her village. What a concept! 🦌

Watched Creatures the World Forgot, which was a 70s Hammer Horror follow-up to other prehistoric movies like One Million Years BC and When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth.
This one has no dinos, and instead goes for realism. A highlight is when a masked & painted tribe attacks the protags.

Watched Creatures the World Forgot, which was a 70s Hammer Horror follow-up to other prehistoric movies like One Million Years BC and When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth.

Watched The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires, which was a Shaw Brothers & Hammer Horror co-production, so essentially a martial arts movie with vampires in it. Honestly it wasn’t that impressive, and the makeup and effects were incredibly cheesy and the action was so-so. Amusing but not great.

Tonight I’m watching the 1932 film Doctor X, which is about the hunt for a serial killer. This has both a B&W version and an early technicolor version. The latter has this fascinating green tint to everything, giving it an eerie, otherworldly look.
