I suspect 9 of 10 Americans are unaware that the Hmong are here because they aided the US in the Vietnam war, and then had to flee as refugees afterwards. Quite the “thank you” we’re giving them 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
ICE is allegedly hunting for Hmong people in Minneapolis and as I watched video of the incident lo and behold @whstancil.bsky.social was on the scene

A Minneapolis nurse filmed a widely circulated video showing a U.S. Border Patrol agent repeatedly kneeing a man in the face.

Her video shows five Border Patrol agents restraining a man in the middle of Chicago Avenue near 24th Street.

This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

It’s ironic that they’re like “if we do ethnic cleansing we’ll have a high trust neighborly society” and then Minneapolis is literally doing high trust neighborly society and they’re like nooooo
Many Americans are terrible neighbors to each other, and that is why MN is striking everyone as extraordinary activism... when they are telling us that it is not. They're good neighbors!

It's no wonder that "being a shitty neighbor" is the hallmark of our domestic politics and our foreign policy.

On the other hand if we see MN employers who SUPPORTED their employees, protected them from ICE, and defied the loathsome administration’s authoritarian efforts to get them fired, I would find a way to support those businesses. I would order one-day delivery of your hot dish RIGHT INTO MAH BELLY.
Seems as if this works — if employers start firing people for standing up for their neighbors and fellow humans — than a remedy is publicizing the identity of those employers.
Publishing the names of protesters and contacting their employers to have them fired for exercising their rights is a tactic straight out of the White Citizens Councils.

I hope and pray that there is a central repository where videos like this are being stored so that a future DOJ can prosecute everyone who's doing this and lock them away for years and years.
This video shows ICE holding children hostage to bait parents out of their homes.

Just unspeakable levels of cruelty and inhumanity.

HAPPENING NOW: In federal court in MN, DOJ is struggling to articulate why a person following an ICE vehicle — so long as they are obeying traffic laws — can be stopped for "reasonable suspicion" of a crime.

Judge Menendez sharply questioning that contention.

"FEAR NOT, GREAT PEOPLE OF MINNESOTA, THE DAY OF RECKONING & RETRIBUTION IS COMING." He's ranting like an anime villain.
You can tell Trump is extremely nervous about losing the propaganda war in Minnesota, which is all that really matters to him.

He opens with a rhetorical question about “the people of Minnesota,” not just the communist scum or whatever. He knows regular people hate what’s happening in the state.

There is a longer version of the video of a kidnapping of this kid - there really is no other word for it - here. As he is being shoved into the DHS vehicle he breaks down. At about the 2 minute mark you hear a DHS agent say "wow - fucking child" sarcastically.
