To all users of @observation.org visiting SE Europe for birdwatching: don't forget to register sessions (= complete lists of observations), this could be really useful for @ebcc.info partners in SE in those countries ! and check data on local subportals like al.observation.org
Local Observation.org portals launched and translated as national portals in 4 countries of SE Europe: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo & Montenegro. Important step towards making the data collection more accessible! More on the official launch events: life.eurobirdportal.org/news/Local-O...

You are free to agree with specific NGOs campaigns, or not. But when freedom of speech disappears, it end up disappearing for everyone.

Do we want a society where only the rich and powerful are allowed to speak? Do we really want nobody to speak for societal interests in defiance of private ones?
Greenpeace's $660 million penalty to an oil pipeline company is part of a growing global crackdown on NGOs and environmental defenders.

Nice discovery today of this impressive double-dam built by the European #Beaver in Belgium (Namur province). Apparently, the beaver decided to seal a breach in an old artificial dike, restoring the pond and wetland upstream

In Wallonia (BE), only 1,3% of the territory is under strict nature protection regime. The new regional government is committed to reaching 5% by 2030, but at the same time is cutting in half the budgets for acquisition of land to set up nature reserves. Find the error. #Conservation #biodiversity
