I did the thing this morning where for a second I forgot he’s gone. I started doing things from The Old Morning Routine ™️ which has changed significantly in the last two weeks. He was the best thing that ever happened to me, and I’m so grateful I got to be his mom.
12 days ago, I had to let him go. It was too soon and too sudden.
Tomorrow, I will pick up his remains and go about trying to figure my life out without him.

I have managed to survive the first part of the work day. I’m not gonna lie, it’s not going great. I have cried on camera at least twice, but the distraction of being in a meeting, forced to talk about things other than the bottomless pit of despair and grief that now lives in my chest: tolerable.
