After months of renovations on the house, two GotJunk? truckloads, a massive storage unit, and some well-placed buys and sale finds… I’m hosting Thanksgiving at my house tomorrow. I’m actually looking forward to this holiday season more than I have in decades.

It’s baffling to me, how offended NFL “fans” are by seeing Taylor Swift on broadcasts. Are they pissed off when the team’s ownership is shown after a pivotal play? What about ANY other wife / girlfriend?

Don’t you feel foolish, having your identity threatened by a pop star?

All in the Family. Maude. Sanford and Son. One Day at a Time. Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. The Jeffersons. Good Times. Diff’rent Strokes.

Most creatives would be ecstatic to have ONE hit show like these on their CV. Norman Lear helmed *all* of these.

Goodnight, Norman.

“You wish.”

For a nanosecond, Fourteen was trolling for a companion. And she slammed that door HARD.

I’ve been REALLY enjoying the WANDERERS audiobooks by @chuckwendig.bsky.social, but I had no idea how to spell the central location of Ouray, CO … until I saw an a tourism ad for the town at a central Texas gas pump today. I immediately asked if Black Swan was present. My pump shut down. 👀

Hey I have a question: yo what the fuck?

Why would you do this before implementing a way for people to protect themselves from eyes they don't want on their shit?

Exciting news: We’re taking another step to making Bluesky an open network for public conversations.

Around the end of this month, we’ll release a public web interface. With this, you’ll be able to view posts on Bluesky without being logged in on an account.

There’s analysis during presidential debates on how much time is spent on individual topics. I’d be really curious to see if a similar analysis of the time Joe Davis and John Smoltz talked about the Diamondbacks in between plays, compared to the Rangers. Seriously.

This may be the scariest thing I’ve read all month. Imagine being on this flight, and your pilot or other crew person decides to send everyone to a fiery hell. www.axios.com/2023/10/23/a...
Alaska Airlines pilot faces 83 attempted murder charges for trying to cut engines midflight
An Alaska spokesperson said there were 80 passengers and 4 crew members aboard the flight.

I haven’t lived in a suburban neighborhood since I was a teenager, and never realized the pure joy of Bulk Trash Pickup until now. I was certain I was going to have to whittle this mountain down one filled bin a week.

Starting the third week in my late dad’s house. Haven’t closed my windows yet since the rainstorm in Ft Worth Friday night. Brubeck & Getz are the soundtrack as I do more purging on the house - working on the living room and office. Got through three cabinets yesterday.

No industry discriminates against debit card users like auto rental companies. Even when able to pay the deposit that doubles my out-of-pocket cost and provide all of the ident requested… airport locations won’t rent to debit users without a flight ticket. Asinine.

My soul hurts, today.

It hurts for my Jewish friends.
It hurts for my Palestinian friends.

It hurts for the notion of peace, which needs oxygen to breathe, and finds none today.

Few things make me happier than having my favorite team force the national broadcasters to talk about them, instead of gushing about the team they think will be dominant through the game or series. Case in point: the ESPN crew covering the Rangers & Rays wild card matchup.
