This behavior does not function on any of my twitter accounts. Earlier today some accounts could get an info pane that showed the creation date of the account, but none of my accounts got this full display.

Looks like Elon is A/B testing the change or perhaps has reverted it back out
X has changed their policy and now you can see where the accounts are based.

Here’s an “influencer from Texas”

Yes, Cait is a bully. She always has been. She was as chaeronaea, she was as punishedcait, and she is here. The thing is, she's almost always bullying people who are themselves bullies, which is needed.

Stancil is an attention whore who deliberately picks fights.

Mix those and this is what you get

I don't know if it is the most optimistic phrase in American English, but "First Annual" has to be up there. Such a perfect encapsulation of a certainty of success before anything has even been delivered

I see people post takes like "reading is declining overall" but then I go and check and more books are selling than have ever sold before and that pretty strongly suggests reading is more popular than it ever has been

Don't we normally have days of notice when there's enough solar wind coming to create auroras as far south as we're seeing them? Is this a forecast thing and I just missed it because of *waves arms in general direction of the shitshow*

I've begun unfollowing authors and artists who spend too much time ranting about AI. Whining about the future of technology and the growth of knowledge is finally too much for me

Sarah Kendzior is a doomer who has predicted 17,000 of the last 20 bad things that have happened. She's pollutes the information space with constant encouragement to give up and to disengage and has probably demotivated hundreds of times as many people as she's motivated to make change
November 11, 2025 at 11:21 PM
She's literally advocating for treating low-level staff like shit. I can guarantee you what her waiters, bartenders, and baristas think of her, and it's not warm and friendly
the intern is learning to be a yes man and needs to know there are real people outside of their political bubble

I hate how often I agree with Tom Nichols and Bill Kristol these days. I tell myself it's because they've changed, and they have, but it also means I've changed in ways that earlier versions of me would be very unhappy about

This image sums up why even New Jerseyans make fun of Staten Islanders

My 'Popular with friends' feed literally has 5 theophite posts in a row as the first 5 posts

I saw some ridiculously stupid posts about the ACA so I went to look at the guy's profle and of course he's a NYTimes reporter, lol. Everybody at the NYTimes is trash

I would be in trouble at my job if my uptime number looked like this: usa-status.com

With the sources being cited as being from Nashville, that sure suggest Keith's people. Can you imagine your friends telling people that the problem is you aren't able to satisfy your partner, who happens to be Nicole fucking Kidman?

This is how I experience reality, as well
this is going beyond what I have solid evidence for, but i'm pretty confident that I do have several distinct, overlapping brain regions or clusters with their own preferences, some of which may be nearly diametrically opposed to my usual conscious volition

Not only are they out there, but it's way more dangerous to be protesting in rural Texas than it is to be out in Seattle or Denver. Just imagine those assholes in the coal-rollin' trucks trying to run people down, especially since that's been more or less legalized in Texas
Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because “they voted for this.”

Exactly this
The shitheads have taken over the official accounts here, time to block them all.
October 17, 2025 at 11:55 PM
Clearsky has this as its current list of the most-blocked accounts in the past 24 hours. Next time they do a data refresh on these stats, those new Trump admin accounts are gonna go shooting to the top.

Also, the fact that Justin Wolfers is at the top of this list is a huge indictment of this place

Putting on John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness. It's been decades since I last watched this movie, but it seems to have only grown more well-regarded over time

The lyin', the bitch, and the xenophobes
Bondi: "We've been living through a horrific cycle of political violence in this country ... night after night antifa wrecks havoc on the streets of our cities. In Minnesota, a gunman murdered a state lawmaker and her husband."
October 10, 2025 at 9:29 PM
I don't RT or QT very much stuff, but THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS.

I'm so sick of progressive/liberals who have deluded themselves into thinking things happen inside of the 44 minutes reserved for plot action between advertisements. That's not reality
for all the talk about how voters need to touch the stove, like, we are touching the stove. this [waves arms wildly] is what touching the stove looks like. nothing happens on a twitter timescale.

I'm not tagging Jon Fasman, who is on this site, because authors often don't control the headlines put on top of their work. But if this headline is an accurate representation of the content (which I don't know, since I'm not a WSJ sub), he should be embarrassed to call himself a cultural critic

This is a thing I think most people really don't get. High-end scraping tools can login to all of the major social media and are scraping the fuck out of all of it. There are orgs building private equivalents of the Wayback Machine for purposes much less civic-minded.

We're already in a panopticon
Absolutely nothing about this site’s architecture stops AI companies from scraping and training on it right now. The company everyone is freaking out about has clear license terms that say they aren’t doing that, but anything you post here is absolutely being used by someone for training
