one nearly-consensus prediction of the hardcore anti-liberal faction of the left, that October 7th was a liberation event for the Palestinians, has been proven wildly incorrect. that was not even 18 months ago.
I am so excited for four years of "the purist left is to blame for everything they predicted and warned us about for 20 years"

creators will move over to YouTube, IG, etc., if they’re not currently cross posting there now
a TON of people earn their incomes via tiktok - if it’s shut down, that’ll destabilize who knows how many people. that’s throwing people into immediate precarity, all over some weird mccarthyite bs. would they riot? how would they organize? if it comes to that, curious to see what people will do.

I am begging people to not allow the terribleness of either Meta nor some of TikTok’s critics to negatively polarize them into defending TikTok, a platform that, among other things, convinced a generation of kids to boycott Starbucks over Israel, a country it does not do business in
People are going to realize entirely too late that TikTok, for all its faults, is (was?) the only major social media platform worth a damn, which is naturally why it was the subject of a bipartisan moral panic. Anyway, glad everyone's brains have been saved from propaganda and misinformation now.
