This. People start thinking it’s down to their individual behaviour and specialness and that they’re just naturally healthy. But there’s a big system that requires communal action and care, like vaccines.
I would love to tell you about the times vaccines prevented me from getting sick, but every time it happens, I don’t notice. I just keep feeling well.

I suppose an introduction is appropriate: I’m an almost 50 year old cis-woman in the Northern California forests. I teach all the high school sciences at an alternative charter school.
Poly Pansexual married to a cis-male, who is battling pancreatic cancer. He also takes care of my 73 yo mom.
