this is what solutions to our self-inflicted omnicrisis look like: cross-disciplinary, clean-powered, restoring macro and micro ecosystems, expanding biodiversity and human diversity, working with life instead of against it:

In other words: a totally intentional, by design, planned in advance *smash-and-grab* heist.

And it's not just economic spoils they're pillaging.

Don't be at all surprised when they use the excuse of the economy they tanked to bolster their false justifications for seizing emergency powers.
It’s a recalibration of economic control.

Oligarchs don’t live paycheck to paycheck. They have the capital to buy market dips and recoup faster, acquiring more assets at fire sale prices along the way.

When the dust finally settles, they will own more.

The rest of us will own less. A lot less.

Ahem. Everyone all together now: climate justice is material. (as are racial, gender, and economic justice)

Yep: social justice factors are material.

It's just a question of how long any particular entity or industry can harvest extractive profits while foisting unpriced costs and risks onto others (the fancy finance word for this is 'externalities' — also not labeled as corruption).

Yes.
And it doesn't have to be one or the other. We can be kind AND bold. In fact that is the hallmark of the truly great.
Small acts of kindness ripple infinitely outwards. We may not be able to change the big things happening around us, but we can keep our dignity and compassion towards others and towards ourselves. May your day be peaceful, my friends. 😊

Trump and Musk are slowly building their case—with lies and lunacy, per usual—for the martial law declaration they were _always_ headed toward.

(And it takes 67 votes to impeach, not 60—but Musk has never cared about accuracy with numbers, or for that matter anything else.)
