This is my favourite time to consume lifestyle media - US thanksgiving. Like the home cooking Olympics. I don’t participate; just spectate.

“I remember sitting in the clinic with my husband one time when my kid was getting three vaccines covering seven diseases. I had this thought: I can’t undo this. If something goes wrong, I can’t take it back. I couldn’t shake the feeling that the doctors weren’t always right”

Got great care @bcchresearch.bsky.social today for my kid. In and out with a brand new cast in under 3 hours. Great staff, beautiful facility. Feeling grateful.

This is an interesting, if perhaps not surprising, breakdown of the percentages of NYC based lawyers at each of these firms. See a trend?

Paul Weiss - 82%; Skadden - 50%; Wilmer - 24%; Jenner - 16%; Perkins - 7%

@heyitsalexsu.bsky.social - I remember (or maybe hallucinated) that you had a Substack about how lawyers rely too often on proxies for quality (lack of typos, perfect cites). Did you write this? I’m struggling to find it in your archives….

I guess BlueSky took my (patriotism inspired) interest in the Four Nations hockey thing as a generalized interest in sports. My feed is flooded with NBA, WNBA and NFL content I can hardly understand.

Upon learning that Laurentien pencil crayons have been discontinued, my spouse just asked if the Minister of Canadian Heritage was aware, and what the plan was to address this.

Listening to the border wait times on a holiday Monday gave me a taste of this. 60 minutes southbound; 5 northbound.
STORY + DATA: The scale of Canadian efforts to boycott US goods is becoming clear.

New border data shows crossborder traffic has utterly plummeted in the last month. Southbound traffic during the recent holiday weekend dropped by more than 40% from last year.

People posting about Canada being at risk need to be clearer about whether they are posting about Trump or hockey.

Fellow Vancouverites: we’ve been lied to. It snowed yesterday in Toronto and I’m informed that there were issues with the busses.

It’s almost like the problem with fresh snow and busses is universal.

Is it possible that Trump would be less interested in Greenland if he relied on a map that didn’t distort its size?

I would be more convinced by the Government’s arguments for the need to ban TikTok If they said it was a scheme to get American men to eat excessive grams of protein per day, because that’s far more consistent with my experience of the app.

Tonight six members of my family gave a talk, with slides, about what my brother Gus does for work. Including Gus.

We still do not know what he does, but we do know my slides were the “3th” best.
