There's definitely a demand for better bikeshare service in #Tampere and that's what we are aiming for with the next scheme. I hope the politicians see the value in bikeshare and allocate sufficient resources to it. 🚲❤️

The Copenhagenize Index is out and the city of #Tampere reached the 45th place amongst the most bicycle-friendly cities! There are many things we can do even better, and it takes time to make a real change, but this shows that we are on the right track (cycle track that is 🤭) #pyöräily #cycling

All good things come to an end. Our #bikeshare closes tomorrow. We had 8 700 passes and 7 100 single-trips sold, 230k trips made by bike so utilization rate was 1,7 trips/bike/day - "not great, not terrible" as someone would say. User satisfaction stays high and NPS is 78, which is excellent result!

@traficomfinland.bsky.social granted 200 000 € state money for our bicycle traffic main route in Santalahti harbor! 🥳 There's gonna be 3,5-4 meters wide two-way cycle track separated from walking in the shore of Lake Näsijärvi. The new section is the missing piece between Santalahti and Hiedanranta🚲

We're conducting a study for the next bike-share scheme. Lots of details and principle level things to consider... That much has gotten very clear that we need denser station network in the city center and few other potential districts. A dense network is a key success factor. #Tampere #bikeshare

I visited Ranta-Tampella after some time and oh boy does it look awesome! Lots of greenery and enjoyable places easily accessible by bike and foot. It's almost unimaginable that there was a highway right here before. I wouldn't mind if all of our streets looked and felt like this. #Tampere

My long-time goal was to visit all the bike-share stations in Tampere all at once but due to limitations in my free time, it's not going to happen anytime soon. But I try to get all the stations within this season. Gotta catch 'em all! #bikeshare #Tampere #pyöräily

Street plans for many main cycling routes have been published for comments. Unfortunately website is available only in Finnish.

Bike-sharing station at Pyynikki Observation Tower has been on low usage even though it's considered to be in city center. It's closed permanently and now we opened a new station in western Ranta-Tampella, where there has been a gap in station network for years. Happy cycling folks! #bikeshare

Pormestariohjelma on julkaistu ja kaupunkipyörille tavoitellaan jatkoa ”kohtuullisin kustannuksin”. Nykyiset kaupunkipyörät on käytössä vielä vuoden 2027, mutta 2028 eteenpäin on hankittava uusi. Olisiko tulevaisuus jotain tällaista? #pyöräily #kaupunkipyörät

Pormestariohjelma on julkaistu ja kaupunkipyörille tavoitellaan jatkoa ”kohtuullisin kustannuksin”. Nykyiset kaupunkipyörät on käytössä vielä vuoden 2027, mutta 2028 eteenpäin on hankittava uusi. Olisiko tulevaisuus jotain tällaista? #pyöräily #kaupunkipyörät

Kun alueellisesti iso media käyttää sanaa "kevyt liikenne", tarkoittaa "ajoneuvoliikenteellä" vain moottoriajoneuvoliikennettä ja tarkoittaa "pyöräkaistalla" jotain muuta kuin pyöräkaistaa, se saa kiristelemään hampaita. #pyöräily

Lisää pyöräpysäköintiä Tampereen keskustaan ja 8 bussipysäkin yhteyteen runkolinjoilla! Ja sain juuri korvanappiini tiedon, että viime vuoden pyöräkatoksiin on saatu taka- ja sivuseinät asennettua, näin katokset tuo entistä paremmin säänsuojaa. #pyöräily #Tampere

Tämän rantaosuuden valmistumisen jälkeen meillä alkaa olla jo kohtuullisen sujuva ja turvallinen pyöräilyn pääreitti keskustan ja Lielahden välillä 🙌 #pyöräily #Tampere

Pyöräkaduista, vastavirtapyöräilystä ja ylijatketuista jalkakäytävistä kysytään fiiliksiä. Kannattaa käydä vastaamassa, tuloksia käytetään osaltaan perusteluina vastaavan infran rakentamiseen jatkossa. #pyöräily #Tampere
