Ja vaikka tämäkin fasismin, äärioikeiston ja elämän kieltäjien valta loppuu aikanaan, niin tulevaisuuden näkökulmasta ollaan silloinkin tuhon tiellä ja vielä pahemmin takamatkalla - tästä "taantumuksesta" aiheutuva tuleva kärsimys on moninkertainen ja selviytyminen vaakalaudalla.
Sinänsä nykyisyyden tuho on välttämätöntä, koska se ei ole ekologisesti kestävä, mutta se, että tuhoamme nykyisyyden inhimillisesti kestämättömällä tavalla on valinta, jonka teemme. Voisimme siirtyä nykyisyydestä uuteen elämään ja maailmaan, jotka ovat mahdollisia. Mutta ei kiinnosta.
