One year ago today, at the ripe age of 31, I received my bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Western Michigan University. I graduated summa cum laude. It remains one of the proudest achievements of my life thus far.

I’m shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of my friend and former bandmate Shane Freeman. He was a sweet and brilliant guy. I hope there’s some peace to be found in all of this somehow.
