First my background - Came over to Orion in 2016 after 17 years supporting ISS. I started as a life support systems instructor for ISS, then a Station Training Lead, a short time as a Capcom, and management positions for ~9 years. I left cause I wanted to contribute to our exploration goals.

Obviously we’re in the home stretch now for Artemis II launch. One major test left before the launch date gets locked in. I’ll be working the mission as a MER manager with my first shift starting 2 days prior to the mission.

Been working on my white whale of a Christmas decoration - a working Death Star trench run. It’s the only thing I didn’t put out this year because I can’t quite get it to work reliably. Almost there though.

Updated version coming soon.
This day 57 years ago.

Earthrise.

A remarkable view of Earth hoving into view as the Apollo 8 command module flew over the lunar surface.

That's us. That's home.

Every Christmas Eve, I would read my kids 2 books- The Night Before Christmas and A Wish for Wings that Work by Berkeley Breathed. I always assumed I would stop when they got older, but my 20 year old insists I still read it.

5 favorite Christmas songs:

Socks by JD McPherson
Claus vs Claus by JD McPherson
The Season’s Upon Us by Dropkick Murphys
Christmas is the Time to Say “I Love You” by Billy Squier
Silent Night by The Silver Ages

Got tired of celebrating Christmas of the ‘50s & never was much of a Mariah Carey fan
