The backfields at Fenway South have looked unlike anything the Red Sox have shown in a while. The reason? Massive stuff from early career minor league pitchers. On the beginnings of what the Sox hope becomes a pitching pipeline: www.bostonglobe.com/2025/03/14/s...

Picking between Roman Anthony and Kristian Campbell No. 1 in the Red Sox system was NOT easy.

B. Johnson is a really attractive option but reason why I love Vrabel is because he has experience building a roster from scratch to winning at a high level. Johnson has never done that & it’s a completely different animal being the Head Coach.Give me the guy who’s done it before

MLB executives poll on AL ROY. Surprised Campbell is this low, he has a much clearer path to playing time than Anthony

Just trying to figure out what Breslow is thinking w/ moving Casas and the only thing I can think of Contreras coming along w/ Arenado and have him play 1B. I still hate it lol

Cartaya DFA had me curious & after looking, the Dodgers really haven’t drafted that well for a while now. Their original core (Seager,Belli,Hernandez,Puig,Pederson) were drafted but Friedman inherited that. This current core is almost all Free Agents. Take from that what you will

Kyle Tucker trade also reminds me that he was yet another player who stunk out loud in his first taste of MLB action and has become a star. Please stop judging players based on their initial call ups. It's bad.

After years of rebuilding their farm system, the Red Sox were incredibly well positioned to make a move exactly like the one they made to add Garrett Crochet. Why it made sense for a team desperate to improve in 2025 without mortgaging the future www.bostonglobe.com/2024/12/12/s... via @BostonGlobe
Why the Red Sox were well-positioned to deal for Garrett Crochet - The Boston Globe
With four prospects who ranked among the top 25 in the sport, six in the top 100, and a handful of young big leaguers, the Sox were in position to deal.

How can the Yankees replenish after losing Juan Soto?

@benbadler.bsky.social isn't particularly high on the current state of their farm system 😳

If this is what CHI is asking for w/ Crochet, then the Red Sox need to look elsewhere. Side Note, White Sox are such a poorly run organization smh they’re going to end up holding on to their only trade chips too long if their asking prices are this out of touch.

I like Max Fried but I don’t think enough has been made about the recent history w/ his arm. Two straight years with forearm issues that put him on the IL, which is usually a precursor to TJ. Wonder if teams are worried about that, doesn’t seem like they are.

I also like the Chapman move cause it means more resources for bigger FA names. Tanner Scott would have been nice but have a feeling he’s going to get stupid money. Save that for a starter or impact bat imo. Plenty of relievers left to add to help the pen who won’t cost as much.
December 3, 2024 at 4:49 PM
Don’t hate the Chapman signing at all. His stuff is still elite (98 SO in only 61 innings) and he solves the need for a left handed reliever at the back end of the pen. Plus it’s only for 1 year. Solid pick up.

I’ll be so happy when Soto finally just picks a place. One of the reasons I absolutely hate the MLB offseason smh all the time in between and back and forth rumors are so annoying.

TikTok full of baseball accounts crying about Snell taking 5 year 180mil+ deal with LA, like the dude wasn’t a 2 time Cy Young winner who sat on the market in his first free agency year and watched as ZERO teams offered long term deals. Saw a few SD accounts moaning and like… you had him for 3 years

The Blake Snell signing has caused a lot of emotional takes on a salary cap. Truth is 7 of the last 10 WS winners have been teams outside of the top 5 in payroll. Arizona was in the WS last year, TB is regularly a playoff team. There’s more parity in baseball than ever before.
