From @hcrichardson.bsky.social this morning. Peaceful protest is powerful.

I also encourage writing or calling your members of congress.
- get back in session
- negotiate to re-open the govt
- confirm Adelita Grijalva

They work for us. Not the other way around.

You know, if my gym played their crappy music just a tad louder it would almost cancel out the really great music on my noise cancelling headphones.

I’ve become one of those women who stashes a pair of reading glasses in every room. The trick is to have glasses so pretty they look like decor. 🤓

Fell off the 10 female authors who published their first novel after 50 because I was under the weather for a few days. So, today on my birthday, I’ll finish the list. The last 4 are below… 1/5

Last night I dreamed I was watching that awful HBO/Max show “The Regime” and couldn’t get the channel to change.

Can’t imagine what that was about… 🤔

The new principal at my daughters’ school is a dude with a podcast who hasn’t actually principaled in 20 years. I’m genuinely not sure how I feel about that. Mostly I’m wondering when he last was around 3000 teenagers and if he’s prepared for that reality. 😵‍💫

I’m just glad she’s a senior!

Just finished Carrie Soto is Back. I really loved this book. The MC is so very flawed you can’t help but root for her to change. TJR is a such skilled story-teller.

The Midnight Library… just reached the midpoint. Reading it old-school style with a hard copy. 🤩

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

What happens when a character chooses isolation instead of action? I reviewed Community Board—a novel that quietly subverts the “finding yourself” arc. Great book club material.

Chiclit. Chick Lit. Don’t care what you call it. Fun. Simple. Heartwarming.
I miss the women’s fiction we used to read in the late 90s. Do you?

What were some of your favorites?

I’ll go first, Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding.
