A Chance to Serve. That is all we ask.
Maybe he's just restating what the last government committed to...
Question - is "free gear Keir" #Starmer totally off his rocker by pledging to commit the UK to an 81% reduction to emissions by 2035 at COP29? Maybe #Starmer should resign now - or am I wrong??

This would be quite funny
Seeing as Twitter is now X.

Why doesn't Bluesky change its name to Twitter?

Now that would be hilarious.

Compared to other benefits (PIP, ESA), it isn't "ridiculously awkward" though. Can be done on the phone. Most questions are simple "No" and someone can ring on your behalf as long as claimant is there. Think the "It's really difficult" narrative from the media isn't helping with encouraging take up.

I watched a focus group of undecideds in his constituency during the campaign and "we like Grant Shapps" wasn't a big theme tbh.
superb stuff from Grant Shapps on World at One:

“The thing that people said to me, door after door, when I was knocking on doors: we like you, Grant, but we are absolutely fed up with you guys not being able to agree with each other”

Time for me to dig out my inevitable quote, from Jim Callaghan: 'They tell me you really care about Europe. That's okay, as long as you remember I really care about the Labour party.'

We have lived in a "village" just south of Reading for 25 years. In the last 10 years a few thousand houses have built in our area. We now have way more access to green space than before as we now have lots of SANGs that we can go to. Before they were private and most wheat fields. It's fantastic.

Strangely enough, I seem to have got more abuse here in 24 hours than I got in the last month on twitter.

Coffey applied to be UK director at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)

It comes with a £183,400 annual salary. The director would work with Treasury policy teams and the Foreign Office.

Rachel Reeves, as Chancellor decides who is appointed.

Coffey was unsuccessful.

So Labour saying they havnt got the money to do this is bad, but the SNP saying they havnt got the money to do this is good?
Just to be clear. The #Labour government in #England having cut the Winter Fuel Allowance for Pensioners in England have cut £100 Million from the #Scottish Budget and therefore underhandedly forced the Scottish Government to make cuts they never wanted to make.
#ScottishIndependence #YouYesYet #SNP
This is terrible Scotland is absolutely freezing in winter how many pensioners are going to die from hypothermia. Not a good at all. 🤬🤬

English consumers pay high prices for Scottish electricity, delivering huge profits to Scottish generators, much of which is collected via windfall taxes, to spend on public services in Scotland, with >£20bn extra thrown in on top. Criminal masterminds, these electricity thieves.

Have to admit, there doesnt seem to be as many people from The Other Place here, and it doesnt seem to be as busy as over there either. Hopefully that will change.
If anyone here knows me from The Other Place, let me know and I'll follow back. Looking for UK/Scottish politics, Astronomy, Railways.
