I like Milwaukee, beer, and center-left politics.

I think cities are great but should be better; I also think suburbs are fine but should be better.

You can get incredible food in every single American city these days.

PSA: Two 3-piece cod meals and one 2-piece walleye from Culver's is way too much for two adults and two kids. Two 3-piece meals would have been more than enough.

In hindsight I think a generation of scholars and activists made a massive mistake in assuming that the conditions of (a, yes, deeply flawed in many ways) liberal democracy as the floor, the worst things could get, and so felt free to portray them in worst possible light. Whoops!

every single Democrat who supports RFK Jr. should be immediately primaried and forever ostracized

there is literally zero excuse for supporting an antivaxxer who has already racked up a death count of dead Samoan infants
Well, here's a WTF. Dems are worried that Sheldon Whitehouse might vote to confirm RFK jr and that that may warn off GOPs Sens considering voting against him. (Whitehouse and Kennedy are lifelong friends, law school roomies, etc.) talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/dems-...

I disagree with AOC on plenty of policy, but I f'ing love the way she communicates. Succinct, easy to understand, a clear right and wrong that a vast majority of Americans agrees with. It's beautiful.
AOC: I don’t care what Elon Musk is doing behind the presidential seal, but in this country we hate Nazis. Kind of like a foundational defining thing. Two of the foundational things about American history is that we beat the confederates and we beat the Nazis.

“Respect the neighborhood scale” is such a bullshit planner invented concept of asking people to not build big buildings. Architects need to stop catering to it
Nothing but my deepest respect to 5000 Steiner street, an ORIGINAL baddie who NEVER gave a damn about “respecting neighborhood scale” and is STILL doing what the other girls aren’t. She IS the blueprint.

Of course there was a guy at Metro Market in shorts today. Wouldn't be Wisconsin if you don't see a shorts guy in sub-zero temps.

My wife introduced me to the music of Graham Lindsey when we met. He's a great singer-songwriter from Madison, WI.
We actually named our dog Viola after one of his songs.
But man, I feel bad that every time he gets googled, all the results are for Lindsey Graham.

Being from the US, I knew 24 Sussex was the residence for the PM, but literally nothing else about it.
Nobody's lived in it for 10 years?! Would Canadians be upset or relieved if it was torn down and rebuilt?
It's not my place to have an opinion on whether they renovate or rebuild, but do something.

Joe Biden did a lot of things right as president, but he also made some terrible mistakes. Appointing Merrick Garland is pretty high up on the list of his worst decisions.

I'm a very moderate, center-left Democrat, and I f'ing hated almost every issue Kyrsten Sinema decided to buck the party on.
There are plenty of times I'd like a moderate to speak up, but Sinema always found a way to choose terrible wedge issues. Good riddance.
On her recent decision to vote with Manchin to block President Biden’s reappointment of a top labor board nominee, Senator Kyrsten Sinema simply stated, “Don’t give a shit.”
