When you step back and see what Australia's renewables roll out has looked like it's pretty awesome

Now we move to greater flexibility and integration
🤓 in just 6 years, australia's two main grids added 51 TWh/yr of wind+solar generation.

…taking us from 19.9% → 38.8% renewables.

…this is equivalent to 6.6 large #nuclear reactors, but at much lower cost & much faster.

…even more impressive given there's no chance of nuclear here for 20+ years.

What a cracking win.

Great crowd in Melbourne setting a ground and Australian test attendance record.

Truly amazing sport

And Yarra councillors want to remove bike lanes
“It's amazing how pollution has dropped in #Paris in 15 years. @annehidalgo.bsky.social has filled the city with bike-lanes & not only has she reduced pollution by 40% but she’s also been re-elected.”

Trading car space for green space, bike space, kid space…trading pollution for people. Good trade.
Es alucinante cómo ha bajado la contaminación en París en 15 años. Anne Hidalgo lo ha llenado todo de carriles bici y no sólo ha reducido la contaminación en un 40%, sino que ha sido reelegida.

If the coalition actually tried to enact this there would be an interesting case for Vic, Tas, SA to leave the NEM

Let the states that went nukes have them and let them go it alone with fossil fuels in the interim

Massive flashbacks to my childhood having bought this second hand

First game a bit rusty but we'll get into the hang of it

A clever plan to diversify their renewables production (to wind) and multiple storage options

Solar is awesome but it's not diverse, and if others build it they can just buy it cheap and store it

I'm amazed we don't have this more in Oz already.

Deliveries being put in ubers seems crazy
Cargo bikes are the primary delivery infrastructure for small packages in Paris. They are quick, clean, and quiet, plus they don't add to traffic congestion.

This is the key issue we don't discuss enough

You can't net emissions to zero when the gross is still too high
Yes, if scientists can stop us from emitting 40+ billion tonnes of CO₂ every year.

No amount of CO₂ removal, solar radiation modification, or synthetic fuels will help unless we stop burning fossil fuels.

Just did a run of the Sky Follower Bridge. Pretty good result and very clever tech

Some funny misses from people who were too slow to get their same handle.

I'm sure there's plenty of sporting parents on here

Let me just say we had a scoring catastrophe on playhq and lost pretty much the full T20 stats

Recreating it from 9 year old memories is proving interesting!!

Am enjoying being here

Will need to get back to posting that isn't baiting second rate, second tier, politicians (as fun as that was)

I keep thinking about the criticism of leaving Twitter. For me it's simple. If you wouldn't talk to them at a pub don't let them shout in your face on social media

Good to be here and connect back with a lot of people I've loved following over the years and a few new ones that look interesting

Here's the local part of the Birrarung / Yarra. If you know the area you'll know why I posted it
