there's this point in a D&D boss fight where you've been in combat for 9 hours over two weeks and the lich has exhausted all their spells apart from the one that salts pasta water so you have them running about using LICH SLAP to paralyze people and you think "this is not the narrative I envisioned"

started as a D&D5e campaign, quite nice, died to the scheduling monster.
