AI is automation tech. Crypto is cooperation tech.

All of our possible futures involve an overlap of both automation + coordination tech.

Esp true as autonomous independent nodes - think "agents" - must interact in (sometimes) adversarial contexts.
1/ One of the insights I’ve had that helped me a great deal is that when new things come into being, the words to compress the attributes of those things cannot exist yet.

The attributes include both material construction (the atoms and energy and all the physical stuff that

1/ My high conviction intuition has been and remains that nearly all “emergent” behaviors of AI systems arise first from the structure and topology of the data used to establish the systems, and second from the specific physical embodiment that executes both the ingestion of

1/ Low-latency localized energy generation + local flexible energy storage, that can be converted to electricity, heat, or mechanical motion on demand, is the most important part of the tech stack. (and it's not for data centers, although those will of course be involved).

In the future we

The progress in FPV & autonomous drones / autonomous wingmen / exoskeletons / heads up displays & more this past decade is astounding.

Adults today are building, living, and dying, by machines imagined in games of their childhoods like command and conquer, star craft, halo, or tv shows like gundam.

The word ”Kernel“ just might provide the most obvious example for why natural language is used by humans with inadequate fidelity to build (or even be the most foundational data of) the final form of ASI.

Living memory is one of the most important concepts that we never talk about.

This is an exercise that is helpful to get grounded in it.

Imagine a 16 year old and place that person at the start of a decade.

1/ The scaling laws have not plateaued. The models are still capable of modeling and producing better outputs under current architectures. (Even though yes there certainly are significant architectural improvements ahead as well)

1/"Asserting a rule" and "actually enforcing a state of being" are completely different things.

Very often the "rules" people assert lead to vastly different, and varyingly stable, "states of being" than the people issuing the rules intended or even comprehended.

It took longer for someone to put together a video like this than I thought, assumed it would have been posted on day 1 of veo3 haha.

Mechanism of creation vs meaning of creation.

Feels deep, but it's the oldest conversation, ongoing

Everything that you could previously assume to ground yourself in reality no longer applies.

The world is new. The world is wild. The world is unsafe and terrifying.

This is a moment of inflection bounded by both growing danger and massive opportunity.

Everything is accelerating.

Rather than retirement, pursue the state of being where one achieves independent agency and ability to act towards whatever goal one sets.

AI cannot be God. Why? God is the being with the discretion to set and change the laws of physics from outside of reality.

AI, eventually, will be the most powerful version of intelligence that can operate with discretion while still constrained by the laws of physics of reality.

ChatGPT might be spitballing percentages here, but the bottom line is the same: far too much energy, physical matter, and highly intelligent human brain power is allocated to make the 95% speculative activity in capital markets VS the 5% of real business activity.
