Jeff Bezos paid $50 million for a wedding. He just got a $16 billion tax break. He just laid off 60,000 people.

And you're furious about a kid getting a free school lunch?

The human nervous system's primary function of survival is what leaves even good human beings vulnerable to corruption. Its how you get good humans to become corrupt, (threaten their life or their loved one's lives) it takes immense courage to fight corruption that threatens one's survival.

What you focus on expands within the mind as similar patterns of neural networks become activated. So be careful when you are focusing on negative shit!

My experience is that people with mental illness dont improve with age, they actually deteriorate, and those that havent had psychological treatment deteriorate into greater severity of illness. Get treatment now!!

Need more proof heaven and hell are concepts dreamed up by people who didn't know where the sun went at night?
Jimmy Swaggart died, but he lived like hell doesn't exist.
So does Copeland, Graham, Osteen, Dobson, Paula White, Robertson, etc etc..
They worship money and lust for power. Hypocrites

There's an old saying in clinical psychology "if it talks like a dictator if it sounds like a dictator and it acts like a dictator then it's definitely a dictator".

When life takes all your choices away from you the last choice you have left is your attitude to it all

When something bad happens to you and you correctly assess you are totally powerless to do anything about it, the last thing you have control over is how you react to it and what you tell yourself about it!

One of the few areas of total control yo have in life, is your mind and what you tell yourself. You cant control whats happening in the world but you can control what you tell yourself about it.

How psychological narratives determine how you behave = Bucks party "Groom to be" can tell himself its his last chance to have sex with sum1 else before marriage or his first chance when tempted to be faithful to his wife to be!

There is no moral equivalence between bullies and the bullied, between tyranny and democracy, or between brutality and decency. No individual can be free in a society devoid of justice. There can be no liberty where brutality reigns.

The US invasion of Iraq began on this day 22 years ago.

In the years since, the United States spent roughly $10 trillion on the so-called "war on terror."

Can you imagine if we had instead invested those funds in climate, health care, housing, and education?

One of the major tasks of a parent is to protect their children from danger. Musk has had many death threats, so what is he doing publicly carrying his young son on his shoulders, and exposing his son to the public? Very dangerous for the little son in my opinion? Am I getting this wrong?

Awful day today I was notified a patient was forcibly hospitalized by police after trying to stab his father, the tough brutal part of clinical psychology

There's not a lot of glamour in clinical psychology, dealing with the deepest human suffering is not fun nor for the feint hearted, but it is deeply meaningful to help people with their suffering

Highlight from my clinical work today, a patient who was suicidal last week has recovered feeling less depressed and more hopeful with plans for the future. This is what makes therapy worthwhile.

Tip for calming the nervous system. Looking out across panoramas = calms the nervous system versus looking at phones and computer screens arouses the nervous system

Saw a meme today with a person having read one book and saying they "I know it all now" versus someone that had read a large volume of books saying "There is so much more to learn". A bit like working in Clinical Psychology for 35yrs there's still so much more to learn!!
