In case I didn't say this enough - we are on our way back (in my case) to London this month. You would be most welcome to come along and interact.

And I am happy to say Stephanie Kelton sent us.

I promise to be ready in time.

Neoliberalism took a real kick in the guts over the last few years but they have found their rally-cry: “ABUNDANCE”!

Our culturally-embedded, growth obsessed mindsets have co-evolved with capitalism and neoclassical economics over a very long period.

The econ. profession may be the last domino to fall.

Much to rethink in London next month - come along and/or share the news: modernmoneylab.org.uk/events/rethi...

When economics becomes archaeology and vice-versa
Incredible history that has been part of MMT scholarship from the very beginning (esp with Randy Wray). Also present in the MMT documentary Finding the Money. MMT scholars learned a lot from Michael Hudson in the early years. The rich history of debt also showcased in David Graeber's master work.

Not unexpected by everyone. MMT economists have been loudly predicting this from the get-go. But mainstream media are more comfortable repeating neoliberal bullshit than exploring reality. MMT is trying to tell you something important. Time to listen.

🚨New Paper🚨 (hi law reviews!)

‘Digitizing the Fisc’ is the first article to address the current separation of fiscal powers crisis, exemplified by Trump's takeover of the Treasury's payments IT systems, through a tri-dimensional legal, political economic, & technological lens.

Most governments actively go about preventing recessions with the information they have but it appears this current US admin has a different approach.

Maybe the unorthodox approach really is 4d chess, we don’t know

but it could also be just plain old incompetence.

We are in the middle of a technological transition that stops for no one. The countries that transition sooner will be in a better position to take advantage of the new conditions.

Regardless what you think of climate change the harder and faster you make the change the better.

If there’s a big (positive) noise about the German stimulus,

just imagine what would/will happen if China pulls the same lever?

Don’t think they don’t have the fiscal space…

Someone please tell the UK chancellor of the exchequer how governments actually spend money.

the US trade deficit is intrinsically linked to the dollar as reserve currency.

If the US wants to run a trade surplus then it should be working towards an alternative global settlement system.
