Everyone knows that if the administration suspends Habeas Corpus for one group of people, it won't stop there.

No man is an island to himself (except US Senator, Chuck Shumer).

If I were a US Senator, I would have not voted for this House C.R.

"I'm not going to leave you alone. I want you to get mad. I don't want you to write your congressman. Because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the recession and inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is first you've got to get mad".

"It's like everything everywhere is going crazy. We don't go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world is getting smaller, and all we say is, 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials, and I won't say anything."

"We know the air is unfit to breathe. And our food is unfit to eat. We sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had 15 homicides and 63 violet crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be! We know things are bad. Worse than bad--they're crazy."~ Howard Beale

"I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth. Banks are going bust. Shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street."~ Howard Beale

Proud of my Mayor, @mayorofchicago.bsky.social, for defending our city's values and priorities. Human dignity remains the core of the soul of Chicago. As an Episcopalean, I believe in Jesus' radical hospitality. I'll continue to support our Mayor's policies because I know he honors the Golden Rule.

Since the first Iron Man movie in 2008, seeing the Marvel movies together has been our bonding time. I have different activities that I reserve my time for each one of our three children.

Our youngest son, Avery (26), and I saw the Captain America: Brave New World movie today. The movie by itself was underwhelming but I did like Anthony Mackie as Cap. However, I'm unsure if Captain America and Spiderman can lead the next version of the Avengers. Neither are strong characters.

Yesterday, we had to put our field cocker spaniel dog, Gil Grisom Carr (16 years old), down. He had gone deaf and he lost the use of legs in the past three months.

I cried the entire time while we were in the Vet's surgical room.

Will miss you boyo.

Not only junk fees in banking but junk insurance.
At the behest of Wall Street donors, Congressional Republicans are trying to overturn the CFPB's new rule against predatory overdraft fees.

The rule would have capped overdraft charges at $5, saving consumers $5B annually.

The GOP is the party of junk fees.
Banks Approve of Republicans Increasing Bank Fees
A Biden-era CFPB rule limiting overdraft fees is under challenge, and lawmakers used bank lobbyists for their testimonials.
