Emerging museum professional, with a focus on museum collections. I would love a long term, full time, 'permanent' position, but am happy contracting until that time comes!

I love all things nature! Plants, animals, and fungi are all my cup of tea!
16 actual days since the first day i was affected by the 2025 government shut down. I have no sense of a sleep schedule, BUT I'm also dealing with stuff in our house that I've been putting off for YEARS. Sooo i guess I'm coming up even?

Took a field trip to see the Amorphaphallus titanum in bloom! I can confirm, it smells awful! Happy to be part of a department that does spontaneous, fun things like this! 💚

Today's train, in Stardew Valley, would drop rocks at best. Rocks can be useful when you need them, but it's going to drop like 4, and then nothing else.

Sometimes I judge trains by whether or not i think they'll drop the good shit in Stardew Valley. This train had excellent graffiti, log cars, ore cars, and metal beams. It would drop such great stuff

Experiment 1 in using the bus to try and save some time getting to work added at least 40 minutes each way....

Hopefully experiment 2 goes better?

One of the best things about working in a natural history museum is seeing what the other departments have in their collections💚💚💚💚

If there's nothing else in this world you can do, you can always stop to move the turtle off the road

Idk if it's a good sign or a bad sign that my coworkers and I got into such a deep discussion about the phylogeny of certain plants and animals that I stayed at the museum at least a half hour after I packed my bags to go🤣

From the Maryland side of the Potomac River. No Virginia, no river in sight. It's like being on the edge of the world

The fact that even COACHELLA is a hot mess is just further testament that leaving the events world was the right choice for me. RIP good concert experiences

It's been two years without my best boy. He and I shared a connection that I've never shared with any other living creature. He took a piece of my soul with me when he left. I miss you, Rosco. Thank you for bringing me Rita 💚

I hate that feeling of finding something really awesome that photos just don't really capture. Hiked with friends today and found a BUNCH of Devil's Walkingsticks!!! This one is pretty big at about 1.5" diameter. I love these nightmare plants! Nature rocks!

A nice long walk with the dog in the park is what i needed. It was an excellent day for birds, and now I have a very tired, very snuggly pup!

I could honestly go the rest of my life without ever hearing or using the word "unprecedented" again

It's a good thing napping with your dog is legal and free. When everything else is overwhelming, a dog nap is super healing💚

The Washington Post refused to run this ad. Sure would be a shame if it went viral.

Since September, when i started my current job, I've been making friends in all sorts of federal agencies housed in my building. It's nauseating that I won't eat lunch with them any more because they were fired simply for being in their probationary period. Not merit. Not performance. Gutted.
